An old thorn tree formerly marked the spot where she stood, and Dr [Doctor] Smith informs me the said tree was uprooted at the time of the French Revolution in the expectation of finding some hidden treasure under it - However in its place is a stone pillar. with the letters M.R surmounted by a cross and underneath 1568-, The stone was erected by the late Sir George Cathcart who fell at the Battle of Inkerman _
