086 This name is applied to a small ovalshaped Knoll situated a little to the south Friars' Dew, near Scone Palace. According to tradition it obtained its name from the circumstance of its having been a place where criminals were executed in former times. It is a natural feature and may be ten feet in height, and sloping gradually all round.
