Two whinstone Pillars about four feet high situated on the northern extremity of the domain of Pitfour Castle. There is nothing definitely known about them, but they evidently are the remains of some Druidical Temple. they are however, well known in the neighbourhood by the name Standing [----]

Standing Stones [note] In an old ballad there are mentioned "The Stannin Stanes o' Semmiedores"
and in the new Stat. Acct. [Statistical Account] it is stated that. "Druidical Circles
had abounded in this part of the Country, the remains of
some seven or eight of these still existing between Perth
and Dundee, of these, one is in the parish."
