Exam. [Examiners] Office
4th Dec. 1873
Sir
With respect to the Newspaper
paragraph signed W. B. I have
to remark that the exact Site
occupied by the buildings
by the Church, Grave yard, and
gardens, of this monastery can
never be determined with Strict
accuracy.
I made all the research possible
as you will see by the Descriptive
Remarks in Name Book. I was
aware of all that W. B. has stated
as far as the "Remains" found
are Concerned but I made
much research than he appears
to have made. I am still
Convinced that the "Supposed
Site", as written on our Plan is as
nearly true as ever can be
ascertained.

that this statement
together with the
Paragraph from
the "Perthshire
Constitutional
and Journal" of
26 November 1873
he fastened
in the Name Book
at the place where
the name referred
to has been
described.
