098 | In all the accounts of the City it is stated that " This Chapel stood at the South Street Port on the north side" and on McFarlane's Plan of Perth dated 1792 the site is marked immediately on the west Side of South Methven Street opposite the end of South Street in a line directly with its north side but Mr Todd Ink manufacturer States that the tradition is that it stood immediately west of Loretto Court or midway between the north part of said court and South Methven Street. This is also the opinion of Mr Marshall. The Rood Chapel or Chapel of the Holy Cross. The only notice regarding this Chapel is the following by Cant. That it stood on the north side of the South Street Port. Marshall's Hist. [History] of Perth |
