107 The site of an ancient cairn, not a vestige of which remains at present it was removed to build dykes &c. Tradition says that this cairn was raised over the grave of a man of the name Murray. It would appear that a feud existed between Murray and John the Bangster who resided in his house not far distant. From his residence Bangster is said to have shot Murray with an arrow and that he (Murray) was buried there where the cairn was, from which circumstance the name is derived.
