107 The site of an ancient house or stronghold which was situated on a knoll surrounded by a mote or ditch. The remains of the building were removed and the ditch filled up about twenty years ago, the place at present is ploughed over, being good arable land. Jhon the Bangster is said to have been a robber, or one of those description of characters that existed in the Highlands of Scotland at that period. He occupied this house and lived by plunder, but time of his life and exploits is not known.
