This stream is the continuation of Knap Burn and takes the name Rossie Burn southwards as far as the turnpike Road leading to Dundee thence southwards it is called Huntly Burn. It takes its name from Rossie Priory the name of Lord Kinnaird's house. |

087 | [Situation] A few chains SE. [South East] of North Mains. A small ruin, situate near the farm of North Mains, supposed to have been used by The Proprietor of Castle Huntly as a wine cellar. The oldest inhabitant of the Village, Mr. George Robertson. who is 80 years of age and an intelligent man, states that the ruin has always gone under this name. The oldest inhabitant in the village knows no more than that it has been so as long as they remember. There is also a Quarry close by which takes its name from the ruin. |
