In 1860, the Church was built & Consecrated in the same year.v Seated to accommodate 250 persons. "On the plain below Torwood Villa, a handsome Ecclesiastical Building in connection with the Scottish Episcopal Church, is being erected. The style is Early Middle Pointed, with severe geometrical tracery, in which a copious use of the unfoliated circle in the east and side windows, &c. The whole design harmonizes well with the surpassing scenery in which it stands. This building is on the site of one of the crosses erected in Roman Catholic times. These crosses were put up on the various roads at those places where the first view of the Cathedral was obtained." Dunkeld, its Straths and Glens |
