087 | A parish in the County of Perth; bounded on the north by the parishes of Cargill and Abernyte; on the east and south east by the parishes of Inchture, and Errol; on the south west by the parish of Kilspindie; and on the west by the parish of Collace and a detached part of Caputh parish. The Southeastern and considerably smaller Section of the parish stretches into the Carse of Gowrie; and the rest rises gradually up into what are called the Braes of Carse. The soil in the former Section is of the rich and celebrious character common to the Carse. The parish is in the Presbytery of Dundee, Synod of Angus and Mearns. Patron the Crown. Stipend £183 16s 2d and a Glebe with a Manse. There are no detached portions of this parish, nor are there any detached portions of another parish situated within it. |
