125 Situated near the centre of Village of Doune, In a proclamation by an act of the Scottish Parliament in 1696 the Market Cross of Doune is referred to as having been recently erected. The armorial bearings on the Cross are those of Moray and Argyll, Doune was a market town at one period but it is not now.
