118 ; 127 A parish of the Ochil district in the SE. [South East] part of Perthshire; bounded on the north by Blackford and Auchterarder on the east by Fossaway, on the SE. [South East] by Muckhart on the south by Clackmannanshire and Blackford. It is about 5½ miles in length, and in breadth over half its length it is about 4 miles and over the other half it is about 1¾ miles. The whole parish lies among the Ochil Hills and is therefore a remarkably hilly district. The river Devon comes in upon it from the west 3 miles from its source and forms for about 2¾ miles the northern boundary line of the narrow part of the parish, flows eastwards for about 2½ miles through the main body, This river opens up in its progress a glen or narrow vale and in doing so gives name to the parish. The parish is in the presbytery of Auchterarder and Synod of Perth and Stirling. Patron the Crown. There are no detached portions of Glendevon, nor are any detached portions of any other parish within it.
