109 [Situation] A few chains north of the present Mansion house of Invermay This is the remains of the old house or family residence of the Belshes which was disused as a mansion house about 80 or 90 years ago when the present mansion was built. Part of the dwelling house and offices still remain in a good state of repair One range of what formed the offices is at present used as a laundry but a considerable part of the mansion and some part of the offices have been entirely removed. The lower part of what remains of the former, consisting of the southern range of building consist of small apartments strongly arched with massive stone works which indicates it is to be very old, but there no record or tradition to tell its age However the walls are not very thick as is the case in the class of old houses called Peel houses.
