097 ; 109 [Situation] In the SE. [South East] portion of the County of Perth. This parish is composed of three widely detached portions. The middle part in which is the village of Forteviot, in the valley of Earn situated on both banks of that river, is bounded on the north by Tibbermore on the east by Aberdalgie north side of the Earn and by Forgandenny on the south of said river by Forgandenny and Dunning on the south, by Gask on the west and by Dunning on the S W. [South West]. This division is the largest or as it may be called Forteviot proper. A small portion lying among the Ochil Hills is bounded on the east by Arngask South by Orwell north and west by Forgandenny. A still smaller part lies on the east of Aberdalgie bounded by it on the west by Dunbarney on the east by the Earn on the south and by the East parish of Perth on the north. The ancient Church of Forteviot is said to have been founded by Hungus King of the Picts who lived near the time of the Downfall of the Pictish Kingdom and to whom
