126 A block of whinstone on Sheriff Muir embedded in the soil, it is about 4 feet long and 10 inches above the surface. This Stone is said to mark the spot where the Highland army assembled at the memorable battle of Sheriff Muir in 1715, it is covered with an iron grating on which is a brass plate bearing the following inscription.
