064 A small building about 30 links square standing the W. [West] side of Queen Street Coupar Angus & erected by the subscription of the Inhabitants. It is about 50 feet high & contains a bell & also a Town Clock for the use of the Inhabitants. It was built in 1767. The Lower part of it was employed as a temporary place of confinement for prisoners before the town possessed a station house. it stands on the site of the old prison of Coupar Angus.
