074 A group of antiquated looking dwellings having a family chapel attached, situated on the extreme end of a tongue of land on the east side of the River Tay. Mr. Macbeth, cannot say when they were originally founded; but they were rebuilt in, 1578. On the north side is a small flower garden with a stripe of Veg. [Vegetable] ground running parallel to it, and north of this are a range of offices, also on the west side of a ravine is a large Orchard. The property of Lord Willoughby D’ Eresby.
"Stobhall is situated on the banks of the Tay in the parish. It is an old fabric, most fancifully situated on a narrow tongue of high land, & seems to have been built at different times and on different plans. It has been in the possession of the family of Perth since the year 1360."
