It is formed by the union of two streams, - one descending from the Grampians, in the East Forest of Athole, through Glen Fernal, - and the other flowing from the west through Glen Brerachan, these streams unite at Tulloch, & assume the name of the Ardle which flows through Strathardle in the parish of Kirkmichael & unites with the Black Water about ½ Mile below the Bridge of Cally.
