Burgh Records
Mr Brown Ex-Bailie
110 [Situation] In the central part of the town
This name applies to a two Story Square House standing by itself in open space at junction of streets near the round tower Abernethy, there is no date affixed to the building but there is no doubt but it is as old if not older than the Charter Confirming Abernethy into a burgh (which is Kept in this house) and is dated 23 Augt [August] 1476. The lower part of this house is occupied as a shop the upper part is where the affairs of the burgh are transacted, I am of Opinion that this Should appear as an Antiquity.
