The hills are steep but not so lofty as those of the other parts of the Parish. It is richly wooded, well fenced and drained, and yields large crops of all the Kinds cultivated in similarly situated localities in the neighbourhood. The Church stood on the left bank of Kirk Burn, part of it is still standing. From the proximity of this to Peebles most of the parishioners attend worship there - See description of Traquair (Proper).
