A farm house; a small farm of arable, & enclosed pasture; a Mill; five small Cottages & suitable farm offices. All the houses are slated and in good condition - all are the property of the Earl of Traquair and with the exception of one Cottage of which his Lordship has given a life rent to the Miller sister - are rented by Michael Eckford. - It is undoubted that a Mill existed here from a very remote period. - In 1325 Robert I confirmed to the Hospital of Soltie a grant bestowed upon it by Alexander III in 1263 of half a chalder of oat Meal out of his Mill of Traquair. - "Charters of Soltie 41" -
