[West South West] from the village of Romannobridge A Substantially built Stone-bridge of three Arches over the Lyne Water on the turnpike road leading from Edinburgh to Broughton. One of the Arches spans the Lyne, and is over a Mill-lead and the other is a dry Arch. This is a County bridge and its name (which is well known throughout the County) is derived from the mansion house of Romanno, in the immediate vicinity. |
