A substantially built house, two storeys high, with small vegetable Garden attached, the house was erected by subscription for the purposes of a school house and also as a residence for the Mas [Master] for the time being. The school room which consists of the whole of the upper storey is a large and spacious apartment and is reached by a flight of stone steps on the outside of the building. The present average attendance is about 70 pupils of both sexes who are taught the Ordinary branches of an English education. The Master's salary is derived from the pupils together with 15 pounds given him Annually by the immediate Lai [Laird] And Heritors. together with a free house and Garden
