025 | [Situation] On the S.E. [South East] portion of the County A beautifull Sheet of water about 3¼th Miles in length, and varies from ¼th to ¾th of a Mile in breadth. Pleasingly situated amongst high grassy hills, it attracts many visitors during Summer, and famed in the ballad Minstrelsy of the County. Altogether forms one of the most romantic Scenes in the South of Scotland. The Loch is in Selkirkshire the boundary between the two Counties running along part of the N.W. [North West] Side of the Loch. |
