An Eminence at the East Side of the Mansion of Castle Craig which forms part of the pleasure Grounds. It is Covered with Forest and Fir trees and the End near the mansion is Intermixed With extensive groups of Evergreens, flowerbeds etc. The Hill is Covered with numerous Gravel walks, and on its Summit is a Bowling Green.

An Eminence at the East Side of Castle Hill, from which it is seperated by the Peebles Road, and the base of which extends almost to the Tarth Water. It is planted with Forest & Fir Trees mixed and is traversed by Numerous Walks. It is Situated on the Estate of Castle Craig; and is always called Law Hill and not The Law

[Note] -- In the old and New Stat. Accts. [Statistical Accounts] there is a notice of the above
two hills with a conjecture that they are tumuli. Enquiry
has been made as to the correctness of this conjecture but no evidence
as to their being tumuli could be found. All the intelligent in the
locality appear to consider these objects as natural formation or construction
