016 | [Situation] Northern portion of Drummelzier Parish A neat Mansion house in the Ornamental Gothic stile of Architecture with excellent Bowling Green and extensive and tastefully laid out pleasure grounds attached. The Mansion was Erected on the site of the old house, in the year 1836 and is the property and occasional residence of Sir John Murray Nasmyth, Bart [Baronet] of Posso. He is at present on the Continent. |

016 | [Situation] About 10 Chains North from Dalwick House This is a Very Old Gateway the gate is removed - on the approach to Dalwick House. It consists of two small Round Towers pierced with loopholes, and Connected at the top by an Arch, over the Gateway from the Keystone of which projects an Iron hook where it is affirmed that in "Old times" Criminals were hanged: over this Keystone, in the Wall, is a slab with the Family arms. The Towers were entered by a small flight of steps from the outside over the sidegate - now delapidated. |
