This is the remains of the old Cast [Castle] or peel of Wrae formerly the stronghold of a branch of the family of Tweedie The date of its erection is not known all that now remains of it is a small portion of the eastern end, the wall is about 3 feet in thickness. It stands on the farm of Wrae, a short distance from the Farmhouse.
