A ruin, a short distance S W [South West] of Mitchelhill farm-house, It stands in the centre of a small graveyard and was, about 40 years ago the Parish Church of Kilbucho, prior to that Parish being Ecclesiastically joined to or divided between Broughton and Glenholm, and Culter Parishes The present ruin or church. is said to have been erected in the site of an older Church, which was dedicated to St. Bede or St Bees or Begha. The latter name is thought the most probable as it cannot be known how Bede could be corrupted or changed into Bucho, It is said that some monks belonging to the Order of St. Bees Settled and built a church here in former times but the date of their settlement is not known
