106 | A venerable building which was erected by Bishop Graham one of the last Bishops of Orkney under Episcopacy, Above the door the bishop's initials: G.G. with the Episcopal arms, and the year of its erection: 1633, are inscribed {Extract from New Stat. [Statistical] Account of Scotland, The Hand-book to the Orkney Isles Says:- Coming to "Breckness House", we see the ruins of Bishop Graham's Summer Residence, one of the ancient bishops of Orkney, a descendant of whom, Mr. Watt of Breckness Still owns the property." Mr. Watt being dead the property is now in the hands of Mrs. Watt. The walls of this building are almost entire but in a ruinous Condition; It is Situated immediately South of the farm houses & offices of Breckness |
