Mr. D.W. Sutherland Skerpie. Mr. Logie Schoolmaster. Revd. [Reverend] W. Guelph Macfie Burray. |
120 | Applies to a small green mound, Situated on the south Side of Burray, and Close to shore of Water Sound; also a Short distance north of the west end of "Sea Taing": on the property of the Right Hon. [Honourable] the Earl of Zetland. This object is supposed by the authorities given and others in the heighbourhood to be the remains of a Pict's house: it has a level circle on the top evidently caused by the roof having fallen in, but as it has not yet been opened nothing further than the Supposition remains to throw any light upon it. |
