126 This chapel is said to have been built about the beginning of the 14th. Century by Sir Hew Halcro (who was proprietor of South Parish, and is said to have had his residence on the site of the present farm house etc.) as a domestic Chapel, but was afterwards used as a public place of worship up till about the middle of the 17th. Century, Until recently the walls, several feet in height, remained on the site, but they have all been removed by the present occupier of Halcro for building purposes,
