121 Concerning this building, in the Hand Book to the Orkney Islands it states:- A few minutes' walk east of the landing place and Close to the Sea Shore, is an "old Brough", which, until a Comparatively recent date, presented simply the appearance of a green mound on the Burray Shore of Holm Sound, but Some years ago it was opened, and may now be inspected by visitors. Inside the building is a circle, about 40 feet in diameter, the walls being composed of flat Stones placed one above the other, but without mortar or cement of any kind. At the foundation the wall is from 15 to 20 feet thick, while the loose stones and rubbish composing the mound makes the diameter to be from 85 to 100 feet.
