089; 090 This name applies to a channel situated between Burgar & Enhallow Island "Eynhallow Sound" separating the island of Rowsa from Mainland is 7 miles long and 3/4 mile wise at its narrowest part. The islands Rowsa and Wyre are upon its northeast side; Mainland is to the southwest; the small island Eynhallow lies a little within the entrance and near to mid-channel; while the island of Gairsay terminated the sound and divides it from Widefirth.
