102 | The site of an ancient picts building situated about 1 mile N. west of Kirkwall and adjoining the dwelling house of Lower Saverock, on the property of David Munro Esquire of Saverock. There is but little known in the locality regarding the Brough it having been discovered many years ago, and the Site thereof is now cultivated. When discovered, and frequently since numerous antiquated articles were & have been found, among them was a large square shaped ecclesiastical bell, of a remote period, which has found its way to the Museum of Antiquaries in Edinburgh. |
