080 This name applies to several small creeks upon the south shore of Calf Sound about 1/3 of a mile north of Post Office. In one of these little Geos, or Creeks there is a number of loose stones which is pointed out as having belonged to Gow the pirate's Ship.

Horn Esq Carrick Hugh Marwick Merchant Calf Sound William Hercus Cott Calfsound 080 This name applies to two small creeks upon the south shore of Calf of Eday situated about 1/4 of a mile south-east of Caithness Geo's, About three hundred yards north-east of Quarrel Geo's & about one hundred & thirty yards west of The Caithness Geo's are the remains of two small underground houses, the one upon the south is in a ruinous state, but the north one is in better preservation, interior of which is about six feet & a half across being in a complete circle, with three small chambers, about large enough for a man to lie down in.
