110 The name given to a small peninsula situated at the South Eastern extremity of the Moul Head: it almost forms an island and is noted in Orcadian history as a place of pilgimage. about the centre of the point stands the remains of an ancient chapel, surrounded by what appears to be the remains of buildings shewn dotted on trace.

110 The remains of an ancient chapel situated on a small peninsula on the south east side of the "Moul Head" named the "Brough" another chapel of a similar character stands at "Birsay" while this one in "Deerness" stand at the eastern extremity This object is of such veneration to the people that it is reported even to this day that no one ever visits it without leaving some offering behind
