[High Water Mark] and on the E. [East] side of ''Vodrus;'' also about ½ a mile N. [North] of ''Harpsquoy,'' upon the property of the Earl of Zetland: About ten years ago it was partly opened by a Mr Farrer, from Edinburgh who found among the rubbish a collection of bones of various Shapes & Sizes including a human Skull; also a ringing Bell of a medium Size which was deposited into the Edinburgh Museum: There are various opinions as to the former use of this mou [mound] but the most common, and likely to be true is: that it is a large Tumulus or Burrying Mound of an ancient date.
