001 | This name is applied to an ancient district in the lower part of the town, the inhabitants of which, belong principally to the fishing population of Nairn. It extends from King Street on the south, to the Prince of Wales' Battery on the north & from Harbour Street on the east, to the Links on the west. The houses consist chiefly of one storey, part thatched & part slated but are not altogether in a good condition. Property of various persons. |

001 | A battery consisting of three guns erected close to high water mark to the west of the Harbour, for practising the Nairn Artillery Volunteer Corps in big gun exercise. It is wholly composed of earth, without enclosures. & has a powder magazine attached, which, however is of stone. It is feud from the Town Council at the yearly feu of eight shillings, & is kept in excellent condition by the Sergeant Instructor attached to the Corps. |
