001 | This is the town & county public hospital, for relief of the sick, which was erected by public subscription in 1843, by which, and voluntary contributions, it has been, & is now supported. It is a commodious building, pleasant by situation at the upper end of the town, on a piece of open ground which is nicely ornamented with shrubs etc. It is two storeys high, & its wards are roomy & comfortable & everything in connection with the building, is kept in excellent order & condition by the trustees. |
