001 A plain structure on High Street consisting of various appartments in which all public business, judicial & otherwise connected with the Town & County of Nairn is transacted. The lower flat is divided off into a large witness room in which inferior courts of justice are held, & appartments for the governor of the prison; and the upper flat is divided off into spacious court room in which the lighter judicial courts & unimportant Town & County meetings are held, a debtors room, & other small offices connected with the county. Owing to the structure not affording in its present state sufficient accommodation for the transaction of the public business, the authorities have concluded to make various improvements upon it which are to be gone on with forthwith for that end.
