is no Village in the Parish, called
Ardclach. The Village is called
Ferness, comprehending within
it several small dwelling houses,
a School built by the Proprietors of
Glenferness, and a Post Office,
which goes under the name of the
Ardclach Post Office, but the
Village is Ferness Village.
If you consult William Grigor
Esqr, Writer, Elgin, I think
he will confirm what I have

P.S. There is also in the district
of Ardclach, a Cottage occupied
by my Man-Servant, Alexander
Mackenzie, and another Cottage
occupied by Jessie McBean,
both Cottages near the School=
