The diameter of the cairn is about 33 feet the height at the middle about 3 feet 6 in [inches] and wholly composed of land Stones. The laird of Orton has the tenant bound down in his lease not to disturb or remove this heap of Stones: And the tradition is that a battle was fought here at one time, and that two officers fell in the action, and were buried here (and hence the name) |
