Scales teeth etc of the Holoptychius which have been So admirably preserved in the cabinet and figured in the work of Patrick Duff Esq. Elgin This Glen contains the Estate of Auchinroath, together with that of the Glens and Pitcraigy. It is however, chiefly interesting to the geologist as suggesting the probability that it once formed the bed of the Spey, before the barrier at the Pass of Sourden had given way" Spey Side Guide. Applies to a narrow ravine through which the Morayshire railway
passesse, to Elgin. It extends from near the north end of the Village of Rothes in a westerly direction to the Laicht o' Mury in Elgin parish.
