018.10 | A rough unhewn Stone about 5 ft [feet] high and 3 broad said to have been placed here by the Druids, but for what purpose it is uncertain. Some affirm it to be the remains of a stone circle but the general belief is that it was a place of meeting for religious purposes. and that no other Stone was erected at or near the place. but the one it stands on the line of boundary dividing the parishes of Elgin & Rothes on the farm of Netherglen. |
