007.16 This school is situated beside the Elgin Academy on the west side of the Street and was established in 1832 for the education of Children, to which an industrial department was added in 1856. It is supported chiefly by public Subscription and is under the management of a President, treasurer, Secretary and Committee. The School is conducted by a female teacher assisted by several pupil teachers.
