016.12 "The Church of Dallas is situated very near the centre of the parish. It is distant from the nearest boundary about 4 miles and from the farthest Six. It was built in 1794. It accommodates only 400 Sitters" Extract from the New Statistical Account - dated 1842.
The date on the belfry is 1793. The "stone weather beaten effigy of St. Michael" mentioned in the Statistical Account as lying at the foot of the cross, has disappeared.
