A Pump at the north end of Greenside Row, formerly Rood Well of Greenside, and belonging to the Carmelite Friars in that locality. during the sixteenth century, at a latter period, previous to the City of Edinburgh been supplied by water from Crawley, this was a favourite well, but latter a pump was placed in it, and it is now confined more for the use of a few families in the immediate neighbourhood,
