[Situation] At the north side of Silvermills. A church of moderate Size, of the Elizabethan Style of architecture erected in 1843. It is commodious & well fitted with seats etc. Capable of accommodating a congregation of about 1000 persons. The minister is the Revd [Reverend] Alexander W. Brown D.D. [Doctor of Divinity] whose stipend amounts to £130 pounds from the sustentation fund besides a Supplement from the Congregation. [See Name Book Sheet 16 form 136]
