A large garden consisting of about 14 1/2 imperial acres Surrounded by a high wall It is well laid out with taste and scientific containing ranges of hot-houses and Green-houses built after the most modern and improved plan where many shrubs and plants of tropical Climates and from other parts are rased. There is a class room and a museum in the garden where during the summer session lectures are delivered by the professor of botany in the University, these buildings are undergoing alterations at present the public are admitted at all times into the garden An annual grant of £419 is allowed by government for the support of the garden and £25 from the Town Council
