[Situation] At the Southern Side of the Royal Botanic Garden & western Side of Inverleith Row. A large garden containing about 9 acres Scotch measure. The property of the Horticultural Society of Scotland It was established here in 1824 for the advancement of Horticulture for improvement in the Cultivation of rare flowers fruits & plants. The garden also affords a pleasing promenade in Summertime to the members of the Society. Strangers are also admitted by ticket. the Society was established in 1809 |
